Microsoft Readies Pink Zune
By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 4/10/2007
Redmond, Wash. — Microsoft is launching a limited edition pink version of its Zune MP3 player later this spring, after finding that consumers respond to product cosmetics including color.
The company will ship about 100,000 devices at $249 at stores where the Zune is currently available.
Microsoft said it is also considering offering a red Zune this summer because “colors as well as the unique finish and texture for the device are really resonating with consumers. Increasingly, technology design is mirroring fashion and we are looking at trends in the coming fashion seasons as we develop new colors,” according to a spokeswoman.
