By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 4/20/2007

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) reports that its president/CEO Gary Shapiro will deliver the opening keynote address at Hometech Middle East, the region’s largest trade show for consumer technology, this May.

Executives from CEA’s board of Industry Leaders, including Noel Lee, head monster, Monster Cable, and Jay McLellan, president/CEO, Home Automation, as well as CEA’s industry relations senior VP Todd Thibodeaux, are also slated to deliver remarks at the event.

Produced by Messe Frankfurt and sponsored by CEA, Hometech Middle East is scheduled for May 13-15 at the Dubai International Convention Centre in Dubai, UAE.

“The Middle East region is experiencing tremendous growth with more than $47 billion invested in new housing construction in the UAE alone. This surge in economic growth provides incredible opportunities for consumer technology companies looking to expand their brand internationally,” said Shapiro. “CEA is thrilled to sponsor Hometech and looks forward to further expanding the consumer technology industry in the Middle East.”

Shapiro’s opening keynote is slated for 9 a.m., May 14. Shapiro will discuss the future of the consumer electronics industry in the worldwide market and the global growth of the International CES, CEA’s flagship event and the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology.

Monster Cable’s Lee will deliver a keynote address on Monday at 2 p.m., focused on the history and success of Monster Cable and the future growth and direction of the company.

McLellan, chair of CEA’s TechHome division, will participate on a panel discussion Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., focused on the current range of home automation systems and growth opportunities within the market. CEA’s Thibodeaux will moderate a panel discussion on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m., on the state of content delivery in the Middle East and how companies are reaching these consumers.

As part of CEA’s partnership with Messe Frankfurt and the association’s commitment to grow the consumer technology industry and expand international business opportunities, CEA will lead a delegation to Hometech Middle East, which will include members of the CEA Board of Industry Leaders and press.

Hometech 2007 is expected to surpass the 2006 show in terms of exhibitor growth and exhibit space by more than 50 percent.
