Eclipse Enters Crutchfield

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 8/22/2005

Eclipse, a high-end car audio brand that is sold only through retail specialists, said it is expanding into Crutchfield in order to satisfy demand for Eclipse's new audio/video-navigation products.

Eclipse will sell only its AVN line of A/V-navigation products through the catalog and its Web site, and will not sell its standard CD players through Crutchfield, Eclipse said.

“We are the last major head unit brand to go with them,” said Eclipse's marketing director Michael West.

West told TWICE that Eclipse's AVN units are now outselling its standard CD players due to the growing popularity of the video-plus-navigation category. (See TWICE, July 25, p. 36.)
