Belkin To Bow In-Desk Hubs, Docks

By Colleen Bohen -- TWICE, 4/23/2007

Belkin has created a series of in-desk hubs and iPod docks designed to fit in the grommet holes of a desk in order to cut down on workspace clutter.

The line includes the front-access in-desk USB hub which fits into a 3-inch grommet hole and features four angled ports. It comes with a mounting ring to secure the hub.

The series also includes 2- and 3- inch USB hubs that keep the ports flush with the desk's surface. Both of these models also come with mounting rings.

Finally, the in-desk dock for iPod fits into a three-inch hole. According to Belkin, the dock charges and syncs the iPod as it plays. The product comes with a stereo-out jack so that music can be played on a stereo, speakers or headphones. It is said to be compatible with a variety of iPod models including the first and second-generation iPod nanos, the iPod mini, and the fourth- and fifth-generation iPods.

The four products will be available at retail in May for a suggested $39.99 each.
