Kensington Locks Up Thin Laptops

Staff -- TWICE, 10/22/2001

Kensington Technology Group is adding more security to laptop computers with its Slim MicroSaver, the next generation in physical data security and the first cable lock designed specifically for today's ultra-thin laptops.

The new design is about 15 percent smaller and significantly more compact and secure than competitive locks, Kensington said. Featuring a new black cable, the Slim MicroSaver is an aesthetic match with today's new notebooks, the company said. The thin profile lock allows the notebook computer to lay flat on any desk or table without blocking ports or buttons on the computer.

Availability was late September, and suggested retail is $44.99.
