Toshiba Extends 5 Free HD DVD Offer

Wayne, N.J. — Toshiba has extended its five free HD DVD disc promotion, called “The Perfect Offer,” until Sept. 30, 2007, the company announced Wednesday.

Toshiba said it is extending the program due to its strong success since launch. The mail-in offer gives purchasers of any Toshiba HD DVD player the ability to select and receive five free HD DVD titles from a selection of 15. Full offer details are available at www.toshibahddvd.com.

Toshiba also recently announced new lower everyday pricing on select HD DVD players. Toshiba’s 1080p HD-A20 now sells for a $399 suggested retail, and its 1080i HD-A2 entry model is available for $299.

Toshiba also revealed that its HD DVD players are upgradeable via a firmware update that will add new

networkable Internet connectivity

to allow the downloading of interactive extras. Participating studios are now starting to release discs to take advantage of the capability.
