Best Buy Opens 2nd Manhattan Store

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 7/21/2003

New York - Best Buy opened its second store in Manhattan on July 18.

The 30,000-square-foot unit is located at Lexington Ave. and 86th Street, a heavily trafficked intersection on Manhattan’s posh Upper East Side. The site is less than one block away from Circuit City and P.C. Richard & Son stores.

Best Buy opened its first store in Manhattan 13 months ago. The new addition will be heralded by a weeklong series of promotions including appearances by R&B artist Ashanti and the rock bands KISS and The Goo Goo Dolls.

At the same time, the company is opening stores in the nearby towns of Mount Vernon and Huntington Station, bringing its greater New York area presence up to 31 locations.
