Dacor Debuts Cabinet-Depth Bottom Mount

By Staff -- TWICE, 3/30/2009

Dacor, the family-held premium appliance manufacturer, has begun shipping a 36-inch, cabinet-depth bottom-mount refrigerator under its Epicure badge.

The freestanding EF36BNNFSS offers 14.4-cubic-feet of capacity within the refrigerator compartment and 5.4 cubic feet of refrigerator space. Available in stainless steel (suggested retail: $3,130) or fitted with a custom overlay to match existing cabinetry for an integrated appearance ($3,430), the French-door fridge features a slide-out hanging deli drawer and two crisper drawers with individual adjustable temperature/humidity controls, while a modular design system allows homeowners to customize each model with handles from the company's Epicure, Millennia or Preference platforms.

The new model meets the 2008 Energy Star guidelines with a 20 percent energy efficient compressor, and uses less energy than a 60-watt light bulb. Other features include adaptive defrost, which adjusts defrost patterns to actual door usage; multiple temperature sensors; full-width wire freezer baskets; gallon door storage; spill-proof, tempered-glass shelves; a covered dairy compartment; a rack-and-pinion glide system for the freezer compartment; and adjustable door bins.
