Empower Debuts PowerPlay iMedia Chair

LAS VEGAS — Empower Technologies is debuting its PowerPlay iMedia Chair during International CES at the Sands, booth 70945. The company claims the iMedia Chair is the world's first piece of digital furniture that features integrated iPod docking, surround sound and iPod video display. This allows for stand-alone enjoyment of iPod audio and video as well as DVD, music and video game systems. The markets covered are the portable media player market, home theater and video gaming markets. The applications include home, office and professional use. Having iPod docking and a powerful surround-sound system integrated into the frame of an ergonomically designed chair definitely makes this product unique, giving the user a very immersive "near field" 5.1 surround-sound experience not possible with standard home theater systems, and a personal screen attached to the chair allows for enjoyment of iPod video media, the company said. Suggested retail pricing and shipment dates will be available during the show.
