Digital Gadgets Bows Sylvania Branded Line

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 1/7/2008

Digital Gadgets, a manufacturer of CE products and accessories, announced that it will be introducing a line of Sylvania-branded products.

Digital Gadgets is a licensee for the Sylvania brand.

The lineup will include a variety of earphones, including the SYL-185 ($6.99), SYL-197 ($8.99) and SYL-626 ($11.99), all currently available. The SYL-185 silent cap earphones boast a lightweight design and contoured design, and the company said they have "professional sound quality." They come in white.

The SYL-185 silent cap earphones have many of the same features as the SYL-197 and also "reduce sound leakage." They come in a black and silver design.

The SYL-626 digital stereo headphones are billed as having powerful sound in a compact design. They feature "super comfortable" headband and cushioned ear cups, and a volume control is included on the cord.

There will be approximately 20 Sylvania-branded headphone and earphone products, including wireless and noise canceling, said Jamie Safdiah, COO of Audio Technology (a partner company of Digital Gadgets). More details were not available at press time, but the products are scheduled for January availability.

Two VoIP phones are also part of the product lineup. The SPM-605 optical mouse and VoIP USB phone all-in-one can make calls from PC to PC, PC to phone, or phone to phone. It is fully integrated with Skype and most other VoIP providers, according to the company. The mouse/phone features a back-lit LCD display, 2.5mm headset jack, echo cancellation, noise reduction, caller ID function and selectable ringtone. It is USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatible and powered by the USB cord. The product acts as a speakerphone when the mouse is closed. Other features include plug and play and full duplex communication. It retails for a suggested $49.

Model SP-652, a handheld VoIP USB phone, has many of the same features as the SPM-605. The phone comes with a built-in driver and sound card and it can reportedly display any language. It will carry a $39 suggested retail. Both phones are currently available.

Other products that will be featured in the lineup include power inverters, FM transmitters, charging docks/splitters, speaker docking units, VoIP headsets, USB hubs, retractable cables, photo frame keychains, travel adapters, keyboards, fans, mice and Web cams. Additional details for these products were not available at press time.
