New Wolverine PMP Adds DVR Feature

Irvine, Calif. — Mobile memory supplier Wolverine Data has begun shipping its second portable media player (PMP), which is targeted to professional photographers and prosumers.
The ESP PMP offers multiple features not available in the company's MVP PMP, which continues in the line. The ESP adds a larger sceen of 3.6 inches, DVR functionality for recording directly from the analog outputs of a TV or other video component, and FM tuner with DM recording.
Like the MVP, the ESP stores RAW images and incorporates 7-in-1 memory-card reader.
The company also sells MP3 players. MP3 accessories, and flash-memory and HDD data-storage devices.
The ESP PMP is available in 80GB and 120GB capacities for MAP prices of $399 and $499, respectively.
The PictBridge-enabled PMP supports JPEG, BMP, TIF and RAW image files with zooming and rotating functions. The 7-in-1 card reader accepts CompactFlash, MicroDrive, SD/MMC, Memory Stick (including Pro) and xD Picture Cards.
Wolverine also offers an optional adapter for Memory Stick Pro DUO, Mini-SD and RS-MMC cards.
The unit can record video from a TV or other video sources with an optional cradle at $79.99. The unit supports MPEG-1, MPEG-4, WMV9 and Xvid video formats and multiple audio formats.
Wolverine sells through etailers and brick-and-mortar retailers.
