Stevie Wonder Headlines Monster Awards Concert

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/30/2006

Monster Cable's annual retailer awards gala at CES was followed by a concert starring music legend Stevie Wonder. One of the most influential artists on the world's music scene, Wonder is the winner of 22 Grammys as well as the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Highlights of the two-hour show included an audience sing-along on “My Cherie Amour”; a duet on “Isn't She Lovely” with daughter Aisha Morris, for whom the song was written; a tribute to the late Lou Rawls, who died earlier that day; and a plea to the consumer electronics industry to “make your technology more accessible to the blind, so we can enjoy it as much as you enjoy giving it to us.”

Guests included jazz greats George Benson, Herbie Hancock and Al Jarreau, who have each recorded with Wonder.
