Crane's Debuts 103-Inch Panasonic Plasma

By Staff -- TWICE, 8/20/2007

Ken Crane's is now carrying Panasonic's 103-inch plasma television. Touted as the "world's largest" plasma TV, the item retails for $70,000.

According to Ken Crane's, it is the exclusive California retailer of the 103-inch Panasonic 1080p plasma HDTV, and one of four locations across the United States.

The screen was officially unveiled at the chain's 11026 West Pico Blvd. location, here, at a special event held Wednesday, Aug. 15.

A spokesperson told TWICE that the event was attended by approximately 150 people including sportscaster and former NFL player Jim Hill, and former Major League Baseball players Jay Johnstone and Eric Karros. She said that none of the 103-inch TVs were sold at the event but that Ken Crane's executives are hoping to sell "at least a dozen by Christmas."

According to the spokesperson, Ken Crane's promoted the event locally with a 15-minute segment on the local KTLA-TV morning show and an additional live broadcast from the evening's event on KCAL-TV.
