AQUOS 20" LCD TV Takes PC, TV Sources

Mahwah, N.J. — Sharp introduced a new 20-inch AQUOS LCD television that will accept both video and PC signals to its line of more than 40 different AQUOS LCD TV models.
The new unit — model LC-20B6U-S — is said to be the first in Sharp’s AQUOS line to "offer consumers HDTV and PC compatibility in a smaller body."
In the past, the company has offered dual PC and TV capability only in larger screen sizes, while choosing to optimize video performance on dedicated LCD TVs.
In announcing the new direction, Sharp said it was adding a model that could perform as a true multimedia display for burgeoning home networking opportunities.
"We're addressing the growing consumer demand for LCD TVs by bringing new capabilities to smaller screen size offerings, as well as increasing the variety of design and installation options available to our consumers," said Bruce Tripido, Sharp display devices’ product marketing director. "Sharp's ongoing goal is to provide consumers with a solution to any of their LCD needs by offering the widest selection of screen sizes and colors, as well as exciting capabilities and innovations that include wireless television and home networking options."
The LC-20B6U-S will be available later this month at a $1,299.99 suggested retail. It features a 20-inch 4:3 screen with 1,024-pixel by 768-pixel resolution, a 170-degree viewing angle and HD component video inputs. Body styling is said to feature built-in side-mounted speakers and a silver body.
The TV includes such standard AQUOS features as Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) panel with "black TFT" low-reflection coating.
