NARDA Fetes 60 Years With Charity Dinner

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/21/2003

The North American Retail Dealers Association (NARDA) celebrated its 60th anniversary with a fund-raising dinner promoting organ and tissue donation awareness and funding, earlier this month during the Kitchen/Bath Industry show (K/BIS), here.

The event, held at the Wyndam Resort, was the centerpiece of NARDA's year-long Gift Of Life campaign, which encourages retailers, manufacturers and buying groups to have their employees and customers "donate life" by signing up as organ and tissue donors.

Honored at the dinner was Con Maloney, CEO of Cowboy Maloney's Electric City; Gary Shapiro, president/CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA); Tommy Thomson, secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week is being held now through April 27. More information on NARDA and organ/tissue donation can be found at www.narda.com.
