By Staff -- TWICE, 4/5/2004

Gemini Industries is introducing a new line of Philips-brand headphones, including five "stylish" pairs targeted at young innovators and professionals. Launch is set for the end of the second quarter.

Focusing on an "on the go" lifestyle and a trend toward portability and mobility, the headphones are ideal for use with MP3 players, laptops and portable CD and DVD players.

The top-of-the-line HN050, a behind-the-head-style noise-canceling headphone that sports a "unique" design, has a $49.99 suggested retail.

Another behind-the-head set is the HS510E, geared toward active music-goers who have style and safety in mind. It offers a fashionable and detachable reflective strip that helps keep joggers visible in the dark. Suggested retail is $17.99.

Three of the new Gemini Philips-brand headphones are ear bud models for audiophiles who want an extra-dynamic sound experience. The black HE591 and white HE592 feature a design that offers a surround-sound effect reminiscent of home-theater audio, said the company. These two headphones are ideal for portable audio devices, portable DVD players and handheld video devices. Suggested retails are $24.99 each.

For music on the go, the metallic-clad HS480 ear bud headphone accommodates the active-lifestyle listener with its J-shaped hooks that provide a snug and comfortable fit. It has a suggested retail o $19.99.

For audio lovers who don't have to keep their sound a secret, Philips is offering a pair of flat and compact travel speakers with built-in amplification. The BA300 duo, powered by battery or AC adapter, can bring "crisp sound" to portable audio devices and laptops with a fast and simple hookup, said Gemini. Speaker design allows these to be placed on a tabletop or clipped onto any laptop screen. Suggested retail is $49.99.
