Terk Lowers Pricing On XM Satellite Radio Antennas

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/9/2002

Antenna maker Terk Technologies has reduced prices across the board on its XM-certified Satellite Radio antennas. New prices to Terk customers are TRK-SR1X, $59.95; TRK-SR2, $49.95; and XM4-MM, $79.95. There is no change for the XM4-CLIP, at $89.95.

At the same time Terk is expanding its line of clip-on outdoor antennas to reflect changes in satellite dish design. With local stations still unavailable in many markets, satellite subscribers need an antenna to supplement their digital satellite system. Terk offers two options. The new TV44 is designed to simply clip onto 18-inch by 20-24 inch multi-satellite dishes in order to receive local broadcasting. The TV42 is an option for 18-inch satellite dishes. Suggested retails are $59.95 for the TV42 and $79.95 for the TV44.

Terk is unveiling the TRK-S25, a DirecTV approved triple LNB multi-satellite dish antenna. The dish sports a smaller design than past generations, providing a low-profile look for homeowners. The multi-satellite dish is an 18-inch by 20-inch reinforced, weather resistant antenna with two dual LNBs, a single LNB and an integrated four-output multi-switch. Suggested retail is $129.95.

A new 5 by 8 multi-switch from Terk, the M-58, allows up to 8 receivers to be connected to one satellite dish. The M-58 does not require the removal of an existing multi-switch, making it a time saving solution for consumers with more than 4 receivers. Plus, the multi-switch offers the capability to connect to an off-air antenna or cable hookup, so viewers can make the most of a satellite system by switching freely from satellite TV to off-air broadcasts or cable. The M-58 is compatible with all satellite dishes and has a suggested $129.95 retail.
