Samsung Intros Five Monitors At Show

LAS VEGAS – Samsung will introduce five computer monitors this week with the first slated to hit stores in February.

The flagship model is the SyncMaster 2280HD. The 22W-inch has built in speakers and a built in HDTV tuner and features Samsung's MagicClear screen coating to reduce distortion and glare, the company said. The 2280HD has 1,080p input support and 1,680-by-1,050 resolution and a 5 millisecond screen-response time. Other included video inputs are analog RGB, DVI, HDMI, Composite, S-video, Component, TV DTV/cable and it has 15pin D-sub, DVI-D, HDMI, S-Video, Component, DTV Tuner, Optical inputs.

It will ship in April with a $549 suggested retail price.

The 226BW has many of the same features as the 2280HD, but drops the HD tuner and only has Analog RGB, DVI video inputs and 15pin D-sub, DVI-D inputs connectors. It is Vista ready, has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and a 2 millisecond response time.

It will ship in February with a $429 suggested retail price.

The entry level model is the 19-inch SyncMaster 932B, shipping in February with a $249 suggested retail price. It has Analog RGB, DVI video inputs 1,280-by-1,024 screen resolution, a 5 millisecond response time and a 700:1 contrast ratio.

Also shipping in February is the 906BW which offers a slightly lower screen resolution of 1,440-by-900, but is Vista ready and has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio for a $279 suggested retail price.

Closing out the introductions is the 206BW. Shipping in February with a $349 suggested retail price, it has a 2 millisecond response time, and a 1,680-by-1,050 maximum resolution.
