Sony's Bob Weissburg Joins D&M Holdings

TOKYO — D&M Holdings has named Bob Weissburg president of D&M sales and marketing, North America.
D&M Holdings is the parent company to Denon Ltd., Marantz Japan, McIntosh Laboratory and the ReplayTV, Rio and Escient branded products. All are established brands in premium home theater, audio-video consumer electronics, professional audio or networked digital entertainment markets.
Weissburg, a Sony Electronics senior executive for more than 20 years, was most recently president of consumer sales for Sony's North American subsidiary for consumer electronics products. Prior to that, he was senior VP of strategic sales planning for Sony.
"Bob is irrefutably one of the industry's foremost strategists in North America, and he has tremendous experience in executing his plans," said Vic Pacor, president/chief operating officer of D&M Holdings. "We have outstanding premium brands in our stable, and we are capitalizing on that strength by developing a strong and effective local management organization, while maintaining distinct sales and marketing teams aligned with the brands. Bob's addition to the team is an enormous step in that direction as we move decision-making authority closer to the market," he said.
In addition, D&M Holdings has promoted Hugh Cooney, program management and product development VP, to president of Rio. Cooney has been with the Rio/ReplayTV team for four years.
