Adesso Ships Widescreen PC Graphics Tablet

WALNUT, CALIF. — Adesso has begun shipping its newest widescreen graphics tablet for PCs, the Cybertablet Z12.
The 0.35-inch thin Cybertablet Z12 features a 10-inch by 6.25-inch work space and an ergonomic stylus for drawing, handwriting, sketching, coloring and picture editing.
Optimized to work with Microsoft Vista, the tablet and software feature note taking shortcuts and has both handwriting and gesture recognition ability.
The new recognition technology converts a wide variety or handwriting styles into typed text, Adesso said.
The device also allows electronic "inking" of documents in popular business software such as Excel and Outlook, using the user's own handwriting.
It has defined hot keys such as cut, copy and paste which curtails certain often repeated tasks. There are also program 16 programmable hot keys to customize routines.
The Cybertablet has a USB connection and a transparent photo frame that can be personalized with photos and artwork. The display supports up to 2,000 lines per inch resolution.
The cordless pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity for natural brush control, dual mouse buttons for fingertip click commands, and a "highly reactive" cursor, according to Adesso.
It has a suggested retail of $149 and ships with batteries.
