Apex Digital To Enter PDP Market

ONTARIO, CALIF. — Apex Digital said it will introduce in the second quarter its first plasma display panel — a 42W-inch EDTV model that will carry a $3,999 suggested retail price.

Model PL-42HD12W features a 16:9 screen with 852-by- 480 pixel resolution, 550:1 contrast ratio and color temperature adjustment. Other features include picture-in-picture and PIP Swap, support of 480i/480p/720p/1080i inputs, digital comb filter and anti-alias filter, and video de-interlacing with 3:2 pull down.

Inputs will include one rear DVI input and one rear RGB via VGA input, as well as component video, S-video, composite video, analog stereo, and computer audio inputs, stereo audio and speaker outputs.
