Xtreme Courts Cord Cutters

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/15/2008

Xtreme Technology said it was shipping a pair of Bluetooth-to-landline converters.

The XLink BT and BTTN can pair with up to three mobile phones to transfer incoming mobile calls to a home phone handset.

Users can also use their home phone handset to place out-going calls over their mobile network.

The $79 BT is designed for cord cutters who have canceled landline service and are cellular-only.

The BTTN, for $109, supports a traditional landline or VoIP service with an RJ11 jack. It can pair with three mobile phones.

The company is also readying a software upgrade for the Xlink to allow incoming Skype calls to ring a home phone and let users dial their Skype contacts using their home phone.
