Samsung Names Shin President/GM Of CE Division

Ridgefield Park, N.J. — Samsung Electronics America has named Jung Soo Shin president/general manager of its consumer electronics division (CED).

A 21-year Samsung veteran, Shin was senior VP/general manager of the division for the past three years.

As president/general manager of Samsung's CED, Shin is responsible for overseeing all product sales, marketing and operational activities for the U.S. marketplace in the visual display, home appliance, digital audio, digital video and set-top box categories.

“With more than two decades of experience and success at Samsung, Mr. Shin is a proven global leader with a consistent record of achievement in driving operational excellence,” D.J. Oh, president/CEO of Samsung Electronics America said in a prepared statement.

According to Samsung, Shin has led the consumer electronics division to a fourfold increase in revenue and record profitability during his time there.

Prior to Shin's tenure in the United States, he served as the president/CEO of Samsung Electronics Australia, Samsung Electronics Benelux and Samsung Electronics Germany.
