Photochannel Acquires Pixology
By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 7/9/2007
Vancouver — Online digital imaging service provider PhotoChannel Networks has acquired British-based Pixology, the companies said this week.
PhotoChannel provides retailers with solutions for online and mobile photo ordering, while Pixology offered similar services with an in-store kiosk software component. While Pixology’s customer base was largely located in the United Kingdom, the firm provided imaging services for Costco and Duane Reade. PhotoChannel customers include Wal-Mart Canada, CVS/pharmacy, Eckerd Drugs and Costco Canada.
According to a company statement, the combined firm will “be able to cross-sell a wider range of services to existing customers” and will let PhotoChannel expand into overseas markets formerly served by Pixology.
