Anaheim, Calif. -- Home Entertainment Source (HES), the A/V specialty division of the Brand Source buying group, has elected Marvin Electronics principal Stuart Schuster as its new president.

In addition, David Pidgeon, co-principal of Starpower Home Entertainment Systems, was elected to HES’ board of directors. Retaining their board seats are former HES president Bob Cole of World Wide Stereo; Vance Pflanz of Pflanz Electronics; Bill Janka of Mission Audio Video; Marty Hayse of Dennis Sage Home Entertainment; and Andy Kersey of Hamlin & Kersey.

Schuster has served Marvin Electronics in various capacities since 1970 and succeeded his father Marvin as owner of the company in 1996. “Throughout my service to the board I have witnessed tremendous growth in HES,” Schuster said. “I am honored to be elected president and look forward to serving my fellow group members, staff and suppliers. I believe that by working together we can make 2008 an interesting and profitable year.”

Pidgeon has served as president of Starpower since the company’s inception in 1995 and has helped it grow into an award-winning custom home installation concern.

In announcing the election results, HES executive VP Jim Ristow noted that “Our organization’s strength is people. With a board this strong and focused on HES’ future, I am confident in our ability to maintain momentum going forward.”

In other HES news, the group has entered into agreements with several new suppliers, including Anthem and Panamax/Furman, which will provide factory direct programs, and DVDO and Leviton, which will be part of the group’s two-year-old Custom Warehouse distribution program.

“As we approach our Spring Summit and Buy Fair we are all very excited to announce our partnership with so many great organizations,” Ristow said. “The initial response from our members has been outstanding and I feel that this opens the doors to many new business opportunities for all parties involved. We anticipate record attendance at our Summit and look forward to helping build many new relationships.”

The 2008 HES Summit will be held March 16-19 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

HES boasts some 500 member dealers and has annual sales in excess of $1.4 billion.
