Chief Introduces TV Mount Lines

Las Vegas — Chief Manufacturing is introducing the PLP-U Universal Pull-N-Tilt wall mount for large flat-panel TVs at International CES.
The PLP-U, part of Chief's Fusion Series, is a universal mounting solution that is designed to fit up to 90 percent of 37-inch to 65-inch plasma and LCD screens on the market. It features fingertip tilt adjustments for positioning and an ultra low-profile design of 2.5 inches depth, said the company.
For easy of installation, the PLP-U uses Chief's Q-Latch Mounting System, providing quick connect and disconnect, according to the company. It also has an easy-grip handle for bottom pull-out which locks for three inches of cable access, said the company. Built-in lateral shift provides up to 4 inches of left and right movement.
The PLP-U has a large wall plate opening to reduce the risk of outlet interference, and has a self-leveling design, called Rapid Level, for hands-free leveling of the mount on the wall during installation. Suggested retail is $299.
Chief, based in Savage, Minn. is showing iC mounting solutions, a retail line with eight SKUs for plasmas, LCD TVs and projectors, designed for consumer use.
The line is offered at suggested retails ranging from $59 to $239, with added value such as UL-listing and a standard five-year limited warranty. In an effort to provide retailers with the tools they need, iC products ship complete with full color, self-selling packaging.
The company also is showing a new in-wall swing-arm mount, model PNR, for 37-inch to 65-inch large flat-panel TVs. The unit is said to convert swing-arm mounts from low profile to absolutely no-profile, and flush with the wall.
The mount is completely hidden in the wall until the plasma or LCD TV needs to be pulled out an angled. The unit utilizes an in-wall structure mounted directly between studs, surrounding the swing-arm wall mount. For a seamless look, the sheetrock is finished off up to the in-wall structure.
The in-wall PNR lists for $699; an in-wall accessories kit for the PNR is $299. Additional in-wall accessories kits also will be available. Availability is March.
Dealers can purchase the mount separately, and then will have the option to purchase the corresponding in-wall accessories kit.
