'mysmart' Mouse Pad System Links Buyers To Web

Staff -- TWICE, 12/4/2000

LOS ANGELES -The mysmart Mouse Pad System, available this fall for a suggested $19.99, offers 20 buttons that allow users to program their favorite websites.

It saves the button preferences, along with passwords and personal information, on a smart card that can be inserted into any mysmart pad.

The device becomes operational by a inserting a key card containing smart-card technology into any mysmart.com pad-equipped computer.

The smart technology allows users to store and transport their website preferences, passwords and personal information in a more secure environment, expediting Web surfing and e-commerce transactions.

Best Buy, which mysmart said is carrying the product in all its stores, is offering a $15 gift card with the purchase of the mysmart pad, which contains a preprogrammed button linking customers to Best Buy's site.
