Volvo First With Standard HD Radios

Irvine, Calif. — Volvo announced today that it will be the first automaker to offer HD Radio as standard in all but one of its 2009 car radios, starting next month.
HD Radio will be added in a running change on the radios for all car models except for the Volvo S60. It will also be standard equipment on the XC60 due next March, said Volvo.
Audi of America also announced last month it will include HD Radio as standard on many car models in calendar 2010 for the 2011 model year. Hyundai offers HD Radio as standard on the Genesis navigation system but not on basic radios. Also, Ford plans to offer HD Radio as standard equipment on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicle radios in calendar 2009 .
