CES 2009: Digistore Shows Optical Storage Devices

Digistore Solutions, a supplier of optical digital asset management products and solutions, is showcasing its Centurion line of optical storage devices during International CES at the Sands, booth 73211.

The company plans to unveil its Centurion DiscHub Optical Library, an automated CD/DVD storage device optimized for the retail industry, as well as exhibit its Centurion CD an intelligent disc storage system.

"We are eager to showcase our optical storage solutions to CES 2008 attendees and demonstrate how they can best implement these devices that enable proven and effective data storage, backup and archiving of the most important digital information into their own operations," said Andy Jaeger, Oceania sales and marketing VP at Digistore Solutions.

"With virtually limitless storage capacity, powerful backup software and plug-and-play installation, our Centurion DiscHub and Centurion CD products are ideal for retailers with consumer, SO/HO and SMB customers looking to store and safeguard information. And, the Centurion DiscHub carries a suggested MSRP of $499."

The Centurion DiscHub and Centurion CD can be used for a myriad of consumer purposes, including storing and managing photos, music, movies, and art, and for business applications such as managing and storing training videos, presentations and materials, as well as secure backup, archiving and compliance.

The Centurion DiscHub CD/DVD storage device holds 100 CD/DVD discs, which equates to approximately half a terabyte of near-line storage capacity in a compact cabinet. For data management, backup/recovery and archival applications, Centurion DiscHub increases to approximately 1.68TB capacity with 2:1 compression on dual-layer DVD discs.

The company's Centurion CD intelligent disc storage system provides users with a 100-disc capacity per unit. By stacking multiple units, companies can manage as many as 127,000 discs from a single-user interface, enabling a safe and convenient method of data storage and retrieval.
