Gemini Intros Custom Disc Labeling Kit

Clifton, N.J. — A custom labeling kit and replacement labels for personal DVDs and CDs are being introduced by Gemini Industries.
This latest addition to the company's lineup of audio and cleaning accessories contains simple-to-use software, labels and a label applicator for personalizing CD-Rs, CD-RWs and DVD-Rs. The software comes with over 1,000 different preset backgrounds and up to 500 different preset fonts. It also is fully customizable so consumers can use photos or their own designs as backgrounds.
Claims Steve Reynolds, Gemini product manager for audio accessories, "the software in the kit is much easier to use than leading brands of labeling kits, so easy, the consumer does not even need instructions." Reynolds also said Gemini's labeling kit offers a much smaller footprint on the retail shelf.
The kit contains an easy-to-use applicator, while labels are heat resistant so they will not peel off in inkjet or laser printers and will not "hang up" in CD and DVD player units that operate at high temperatures, according to Gemini.
Gemini, which plans to introduce the labeling kit and refills this fall under the Philips Magnavox brand, also plans to introduce the product as part of a Media Burning Kit under its For Dummies brand early in 2003.
Suggested retail for the Label Kit is $19.99; Label Refills has a $9.99 suggested retail.
