Runaway Offers Cable TV Spots For Specialists

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif — Runaway Productions is offering retailers the ability to produce $100,000 cable TV commercials for only $1,000 through a new service for independent retailers.
The company is providing key retailers in each market the ability to purchase preproduced commercials that are modifiable in both tags and content. Retailers can also change the voice-over and can add vendor products, information or video footage.
“We're going to the best independent retailers in every available market and giving them the opportunity to look like big-box retailers,” said Runaway's producer Linda Palmer. She noted that the cable spots are far higher quality than typical commercials produced by cable companies. “These look like spots that could play during the Super Bowl,” she said.
Currently the company is offering two mobile video spots — one aimed at soccer moms and the other at “the younger, 'Pimp My Ride Generation,'” said Palmer. Six more spots will be offered in the next five months, she said, including two ads for remote starters, a home audio/home theater ad, two additional mobile video spots and one for general car audio.
Among the retailers who have purchased ads are Autosound of Lexington, Lexington, KY; Empress Audio, Pascagoula, Miss.; Good Vibrations, Great Falls, Mont.; Stereo One, Nashville, Tenn.; Foss Car Audio, Tacoma, Wash.; and Pro Line Electronics, Brooklyn, N.Y., said Palmer.
