XM Has Record Subs

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 10/10/2005

XM Satellite Radio reported it added more than 617,000 new subscribers during the third quarter, for a total of just over 5 million.

The gain represents a 48 percent increase in new subscribers over the third quarter in 2004 when XM added 415,000 new subscribers, it said.

President/CEO Hugh Panero said, “During the third quarter, we increased our lead as the number-one satellite radio company by topping five million subscribers, and we expect to surpass six million by the end of the year. This was our best third quarter ever.”
