CEA Releases Results Of Holiday Spending Survey

Staff -- TWICE, 11/24/2003

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) released the results of its annual holiday sales survey, titled "CE Holiday 2003: Good Times?"

CEA, through its eBrain research division, randomly surveyed 1,000 adults in the United States by telephone. The survey focused on shoppers' intent to buy consumer electronics products for the purpose of holiday gift-giving. The survey was also given to 509 randomly selected U.S. teens.

Based on the results, hot CE categories for gift-giving this holiday season include computers and digital cameras for adults, game consoles, cellphones and portable MP3 players for teens, and video games for kids.

Some selected results appear on the next two pages.
