NPD: GPS Up 437 Percent In November

Port Washington, N.Y. — GPS unit sales continued their astronomic climb in November, rising 437 percent in the United States compared with the same month a year ago, according to The NPD Group.

Revenues for November increased 168 percent. Average selling prices were down for the segment to $388, marking a 50 percent decline compared with last November, said NPD.

During the week of Black Friday, (ended Nov. 25) GPS sales soared 670 percent in units, compared with the same week last year, and 262 percent in dollars. The average selling price for Black Friday week was $322, down from $684 last year, said NPD.
