Sennheiser Neckband Headphone Promote Sound, Design

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/5/2006

Sennheiser Electronic is introducing the PMX 100 and PMX 200 neckband headphones during International CES. The units are said to be highly-designed headphones that not only provide “excellent sound quality,” but also “an eye-catching design.”

The PMX 100 and PMX 200 models can handle MP3, CD, MD and DVD players as well as for mobile game consoles, the company said.

The PMX 100 features a carbon-fiber design while the PMX 200 is distinguished by its aqua-blue ear cups. Both models feature a lightweight, metal-reinforced neckband, and weigh in at 2.12 ounces, the firm said.

The PMX 100 is an Open-Aire dynamic phone offering natural, transparent sound reproduction, while the PMX 200 model incorporates closed–back ear cups offering greatly improved bass performance while effectively reducing ambient noise. Both styles feature comfortable, replaceable ear pads and lightweight, reinforced single-sided cables for long life and tangle-free convenience, Sennheiser said.

The Sennheiser PMX 100 and PMX 200 neckband headphones from the Old Lyme, Conn.-based company, will be available this month at suggested retails of $49.95 and $59.95 respectively.

Also new from Sennheiser is a Bluetooth headset, model BW900, that features proprietary Adaptive Intelligence technology to deliver sound quality dramatically superior for both the wearer and connected party. The lightweight, ultra-compact headset, designed for use with Bluetooth-capable mobile phones, will be available this month at a suggested $329.95.

The company's two new “in-ear” style mobile headsets, models MM50 and MM10, are designed for new-generation, multipurpose phones that combine MP3 music playback, video and gaming with mobile communications.

The MM50, at a suggested $59.95, is a sealed in-ear headset that delivers audiophile-grade sound from music and AV playback and games, said Sennheiser. The MM10, at a suggested $29.95, also delivers the same concept in an ultra-lightweight ear bud design. Both units will be available this month.
