Memorex Enlarging Computer Accessories Family

LAS VEGAS — Memorex is expanding its computer accessories lineup, with the introduction at CES here, earlier this month, of new optical mice and keyboards.
Memorex announced lower suggested retails, that the Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based blank media maker said, for the first time, break the $10 price barrier for a major tier-one-brand USB optical mouse. The company's Optical ScrollPro Mouse LE, which has a suggested $9.99 retail, offers first-time, major-brand delivery of a feature-rich optical mouse that includes a scroll wheel and USB and PS/2 versatility.
A second computer input device from Memorex that made its debut at CES is the Wireless Office ScrollPro Mouse, which offers a "distinctive" sixth button, that saves consumers time and effort when working with computer applications. This extra button acts as a "hot key," automatically linking the mouse to 17 different office applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
The ScrollPro mouse uses RF technology and features an 800 dpi optical sensor for a smoother and more comfortable surfing experience. It which will be available in February, with USB and PS/2 connections, at a suggested $34.99 retail.
Memorex also is expanding its keyboard family, with the addition of two models. The RF800 Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse Combo features 19 multimedia and Internet hot keys. It comes in a silver and black at a suggested $39.99 retail.
Other new multimedia keyboards include the MX2710, at a suggested $14.99 retail, and the MX2760, with USB connectivity, at $19.99 These are loaded with programmable hot keys and direct access multimedia controls.
Memorex also said it is expanding its family of mice for mobile users and travelers. These mice boast big functionality in a smaller, portable size to save room while traveling. New features include a retractable cord in the Traveler Mouse and a retractable USB cable in the ScrollPro Mobile Mouse. All travel mice feature rubberized buttons for a comfortable grip. The ScrollPro Mobile Mouse will be available in March. Suggested retails were not available at show time.
Memorex also debuted at CES new DVD storage cases that have a locking centering hub to properly hold DVD discs and prevent the circular disc hub from cracking. Available in several pack sizes and configurations, the DVD storage cases are designed to provide consumers with safe and secure storage, using a special flexible, fabricated center.
DVD Slim cases will be available this spring in packs of 25 for a suggested $12.99 retail. DVD Twin Cases, which offer two centering hubs that allow for the storage of twice as many discs in the same space, will also be shipped this spring, at a suggested $8.99 retail.
