Mobile Edge Expands Reach With Bluetooth

Anaheim, Calif. — Laptop cases and bags supplier Mobile Edge continues to branch out into other segments of the accessories category, using International CES to debut a line of Bluetooth phone accessories.

The Mobile Edge Bluetooth hands-free car speaker kit (model MEABV1) is a wireless speaker phone designed for easy shuttling between car, home and office.

Multifunction calling controls include answer/end call, mute, auto-pair, redial and volume up/down with LED function indicators. It features full duplex digital signal processing and an omnidirectional noise and echo-canceling microphone.

Up to 12 hours of talktime or 300 hours of standby time is available from a single charge, and it features universal compatibility with Bluetooth phones. It includes a one-year warranty.

A wire frame visor clip keeps the unit at an optimal angle while in the car, the company said, and also doubles as a stand for use on any flat surface.

The kit has a suggested retail of $99.99 and is available now.

Two Bluetooth headsets are also new from the company. The PowerSmart Bluetooth headset (MEABH1) can stay charged up to 60 days in ultra-power-save mode, with six hours of talktime on a charge.

It folds for use and straightens back out for storage when not in use. When straight, the power save mode automatically engages.

The headset features noise and echo cancellation and a lightweight, in-ear design and three included ear buds allow for comfort adjustments.

Smart Connection technology allows a user to answer a call by simply folding the unit.

It ships with a protective cap and integrated carrying strap. It can be charged with the included AC adapter or USB connector.

The PowerSmart has a suggested retail of $79.99.

Also new is Mobile Edge’s Comfort Fit Bluetooth headset (MEABH2), featuring up to five hours talktime and 150 hours standby time.

It features two sizes of contoured rubber ear grips for secure fit; noise- and echo-cancellation technology; and LED indicators for connection, battery and charging status.

A phone clip and lanyard, as well as an AC charging adapter, are included.

It retails for $59.99.
