Electronics Boutique Sales Rise 23%
West Chester, Pa. — Laying claim to a "great" first quarter, video game hardware and software retailer Electronics Boutique recorded a 23 percent sales increase in its fiscal first three months, hitting $372.4 million, up from $303.5 million in the same period last year.

HP’s PC Segment Revenue Climbs 17%
Palo Alto, Calif. — Strong growth across all regions and product categories — namely the Americas and personal and notebook computers — boosted fiscal second quarter revenue Hewlett-Packard’s personal systems group by 17 percent, hitting $6 billion, up from $5.1 billion in the year-ago period. However, revenue was lower than the first fiscal quarter, which posted a $6.2 billion figure.

BJ’s Sales Climb 12.1% Q1, Comps Up 6.6%


Natick, Mass. — Positive fiscal first quarter financials at BJ’s Wholesale Club "reflect significant investments to become a truly member-centric organization," according to the retailer.

Staples N.A. Retail Sales Increase 10%
Framingham, Mass. — By focusing on customer satisfaction and corporate execution, office products retailer Staples enjoyed "market-share gains and a differentiated company," as North American retail sales climbed 10 percent in the fiscal first quarter.

Majaps Help Home Depot Boost Sales 16.2%


Atlanta — Strong double-digit comp-store sales performance in major appliances helped Home Depot register a 16.2 percent fiscal first quarter overall sales increase. Sales in the period reached $17.6 billion, up from $15.1 billion in the same three months last year.

Harvey Q2 Sales Rise 4.9%


Lyndhurst, N.J. — Demand for custom installation services helped retailer Harvey Electronics hike fiscal second quarter sales 4.9 percent, to $10.3 million, from $9.9 million in the year-ago period. Comp-store sales for the second three months, ended May 1, increased 5.6 percent.

Lowe’s Sales Soar 22%

Mooresville, N.C. —Lowe’s Cos. reported a 22 percent increase in sales for its fiscal first quarter, hitting $8.7 billion, up from $7.1 billion in the year-ago period. Comp-store sales jumped 9.9 percent.

Dell Q1 Revenue Rises 21%

Round Rock, Texas — Demand in the United States from consumers and small and medium businesses, as well as improved spending among large corporate customers, helped grow Dell fiscal first quarter revenue 21.1 percent, to $11.5 billion, from a year-ago $9.5 billion.
