Ultimate Ups Presence In Aftermarket

By Staff -- TWICE, 3/10/2003

Ultimate Car Audio, an OEM company with a minor retail presence, is stepping up its emphasis on the aftermarket.

The company is relaunching a broad range of speakers and amplifiers in the low to mid range, claiming high margins of 50 percent to 75 percent after programs.

According to new VP/general manager Keith Lehmann, the return rate for Ultimate products is 2 percent.

The company will ship in April a slim-line amplifier series called the T3 with high-level input and line out at prices from $159 to $429.

New subwoofers include two models under the KW series, which also ship in April. These are the 10-inch KW1000, with 800 watts RMS power handling and the 12-inch model KW1200, with 1,000-watt RMS handling at suggested retail prices of $399 and $499 respectively.

The line is aimed at 12-volt specialists with a separate series for distributors, said Lehmann.
