Warrantech Launches Repair Pact With ADI

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 2/13/2006

Warrantech Corp., perhaps the last remaining independent provider of service contracts and after-market warranties, has joined forces with distributor ADI to distribute RepairMaster service contracts on a range of technology and security products, beginning with plasma TVs, effective last month.

ADI, a leading distributor of low voltage and security products based in Melville, N.Y., distributes more than 80,000 items from 400 manufacturers. ADI specializes in distributed A/V, access control, home automation, structured cabling, telephony, closed-circuit TV, and burglar and fire alarm equipment, among other categories.

Given the company's extensive product line, ADI will initially distribute RepairMaster contracts on plasmas TVs before rolling out a home theater package sometime this quarter. Next year, ADI plans to market RepairMaster on its security solutions product line, the companies said.

“Working with ADI is a coup for Warrantech,” the extended-service contract provider said in a statement. “As one of the largest suppliers of premium security and low voltage products in the United States, ADI sets the standard for quality products and customer service. With a RepairMaster service contract backing ADI's extensive line of products, both companies benefit. ADI can increase its margin and customer satisfaction, and Warrantech gets a new strategic business partner. Clearly this is a strategic win for both parties.”

“We are pleased to add RepairMaster coverage on ADI's plasmas line,” said R. J. Hirshfind, product manager of ADI's residential and commercial A/V division. “Customers demand quality products and services, and Warrantech service contracts are the best in the industry. Given the number of product lines that will benefit from service contract coverage, we plan to move quickly to extend this benefit to all of our customers.”

ADI is one of North America's largest wholesale distributors of low voltage and security products, with over 105 branch locations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. For more information about ADI, visit www.adilink.com.

Warrantech administers and markets service contracts and after-market warranties on consumer electronics, computer and computer peripherals, major appliances, homes, automobiles, automotive components and recreational vehicles for retailers, distributors and manufacturers. The company continues to expand its domestic and global penetration, and now provides its services in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Latin America.
