Lowepro Tropolis Protects Notebooks, Saves Space

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/17/2004

Lowepro is combining traditional briefcase design with rugged space saving and quality in its new line of notebook computer bags.

Called Tropolis, models 1100 and 1200 are said to provide a safe and efficient method to transport a notebook computer, computer accessories, PDA, compact digital camera, cellphone and other devices needed to do business on the road in a more organized and manageable manner.

The main compartments of the Tropolis cases incorporate a contour zipper that wraps around the bag, allowing for ease of access to contents when the bag is either standing upright or lying flat.

Notebook computers are securely stored in place with a stretchable fabric suspension wrap that tightly hugs the hardware, preventing shifting as well as impact protection.

The main compartment also includes a T-beam divider and removable accessories pouch that separately stores computer accessories, such as AC adapters and cables. Three individual pockets hold additional accessories and a special file pocket allows the safe storage and transport of important files and hard copy documents.

The front pocket of the Tropolis has three packets designed to hold the business tools and personal items of the carrier — mainly cellphone, PDA, MP3 player, CDs, pens and business cards. Case construction is reinforced nylon and metal hardware with closed cell foam inside to protect the bag's contents.

Suggested retails are $59.99 for the 1100 and $69.99 for the 1200.
