Wireless Accessories Expand At foneGear

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/9/2005

New hands-free “ear clip” ear buds and “ear clip with wire boom microphone” headsets are available from foneGear.

At the same time, the company has launched a new line of “attractive and secure” leather holsters that are compatible with a wide range of current wireless phones.

The hands-free ear clip ear buds — available for both universal and Nokia phone-specific applications — feature a high-definition, noise-canceling speaker, and a power switch with dual on/off and mute capability. It also features a noise-canceling microphone for outdoor calls or in areas with high level of ambient noise, and includes a collar clip for tangle-free conversations designed to comfortably grip the ear lobe for security. It can be used with either ear.

The hands-free ear clip headset has all the features of the ear bud, but adds a flexible boom for the microphone, singling out users who prefer a more traditional headset appearance.

The holster line is available in “high-quality” leather in small and large universal applications. Holsters feature an adjustable belt clip. These come with open packaging designed to allow consumers to try their phone for fit prior to purchase, thus increasing customer satisfaction and minimizing returns, according to foneGear.

The company said it does not generally set suggested retails, leaving this to the retailers.

In other foneGear news, Brightpoint North America will be the exclusive distributor of foneGear-brand wireless accessories to traditional wireless sales channels such as mobile operators, dealers and agents. Brightpoint also will provide foneGear with inventory management and fulfillment services to mass-market merchants and non-wireless sales channels.
