Panasonic Promotes Perry To Exec VP
By Steve Smith -- TWICE, 1/19/2009
SECAUCUS, N.J. — Bob Perry was named executive VP of Panasonic Consumer Electronics, with responsibility of sales, marketing and product merchandising, just before International CES opened in Las Vegas.
In his new position Perry will report directly to Shiro Kitajima, president of Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
Until now, Perry served as the company's senior VP responsible for Viera plasma and LCD product merchandising.
"Since joining Panasonic last year, Bob has done an outstanding job in revitalizing our Viera product line, merchandising and stepping up our strategic approach to the market," Kitajima said in a prepared statement.
"I expect that, with his expanded role within Panasonic, Bob will now be able to contribute his leadership to achieving further growth and development in all of our digital products categories."
Perry joined Panasonic last January. In his career in the CE industry he has chaired the Consumer Electronics Association's video committee and served with Sharp, Mitsubishi, LG and Logitech.

party.
LG has been going down hill after he joined around 2004.
Custom installers and small LG shops had a hard time
competing with large stores (BestBuy, Circuit City, etc).
Now that custom installers are proving to be the key
to a good installation, Panasonic better listen to us,
not the large retail stores.
