Home Theater Buys Music

— Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 9/19/2005

High-end A/V dealer and custom installer Home Theater Store is expanding beyond its Lone Star market by acquiring Sounds Like Music, a Phoenix-based home theater system designer and installer. The closing is slated for month's end.

“This acquisition is an excellent fit with [our] business model,” said Mihir Mody, CEO of Home Theater Store.

Sounds Like Music's Phoenix showroom will become Home Theater Store's eighth location. Although Mody anticipates adding one or two more stores in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area, it has not yet been decided which trade name they or the original location will take.

Home Theater Store will also open a new location in downtown Dallas this fall, and has plans for two additional Texas locations that will be announced later this year.
