XM Passes 5M Subs

Washington — XM Satellite Radio announced it recently surpassed 5 million subscribers and is on track to exceed 6 million by the end of the year.

Sirius Satellite Radio reported 1,814,626 subscribers as of June 30.

XM said the gains are due to its wide choice in both programming and receivers. President/CEO Hugh Panero said the company expects to enjoy a record fourth quarter.
