Orlando, Fla. — JVC introduced a DVD burner/camcorder dock for its hard disk drive (HDD) Everio camcorders at the PMA show, here.
The Everio Share Station (CU-VD10) will work with JVC's G-series HDD camcorders (of which there are three). It connects to them via USB 2.0 cable and converts the MOD files stored on the camcorder's drive to a DVD video format.
DVD burning is controlled through the camcorder's LCD screen. According to the company, one hour of footage or 4GB of data takes 45 minutes to burn to either –R/-RW discs.
The Share Station can also connect to Windows PCs to serve as an eternal DVD reader/burner with write speeds up to 8x (-R) and 4x (-RW).
It will ship in April with Cyberlink's Power 2 Go data writing software for an estimated $200.
