Brightpoint To Merge With European Dangaard

Plainfield, Ind. — Brightpoint, nationwide distributor of wireless devices, is planning to merge with Dangaard, a distributor of mobile phones throughout Europe.
According to a release announcing the plans, the companies expect that the resulting company will be the “global leader in wireless distribution and customized logistics services.”
“Our combined resources will allow us to leverage the capabilities and best practices from both companies in order to offer advanced wireless services to our customers and business partners in the many attractive markets around the world in which we operate,” said Michael Koehn Milland, Dangaard’s COO.
According to a release, the new company’s executive management team will consist of Robert Laikin, chairman/CEO; J. Mark Howell, co-CEO/president, Americas; Michael Koehn Milland, co-CEO/president, International; Anthony Boor, executive VP/chief financial officer; and Steven Fivel, executive VP, general cCounsel and secretary.
Brightpoint also recently expanded its presence in the United States and Latin America with its acquisition of rival CellStar last month.
