Memorex Ships High-Speed CD-RW

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIF . -Memorex is shipping rewritable blank CD media that is designed to be compatible with new High Speed 8x-10x CD rewritable drives.

Memorex CD-RW 8x-10x media features 650MB of storage capacity, 74 minutes of recording time and 70 years of archive life.

The blank discs are packaged as five-packs in jewel cases, with a suggested retail of $19.99.

The new High Speed CD-RW drives have been designed to offer faster rewritable recording speeds, but they are not backward compatible with existing 1x-4x CD-RW media.

To avoid confusion in the marketplace, Memorex is packaging its new blank media as 8x-10x compatible. All new Memorex High Speed CD-RW blank media is clearly identified by the new High Speed compact disc rewritable logo.
