Wave Ships Wireless Conference Phone

Portland, Ore. — Targeting the SO/HO market, Wave Industries has begun shipping its 2.4GHz Wireless Conference Phone system.
The Olympia-branded wireless conference phone, with a suggested retail price of $799, delivers a range of 150 feet from the base station, which plugs into a phone jack and connects wirelessly to a portable table-top conference pod that serves as the actual phone.
To combat echo and background noise, the phone uses a proprietary Digital Signal Processor (DSP), which features echo-cancellation technology to remove audio that would be fed back to the speaker as an echo. The DSP also analyzes sound coming from each of the conference pod's three internal microphones, determining which microphone, or combination of microphones, will relay the clearest sound. Noise reduction algorithms remove background noise from fans or air conditioning systems.
The phone features full-duplex voice conversation and 360-degree three-microphone pick-up. The system also features voice encryption, an LCD that displays out-of-range warnings, and five different ring tones.
The base station comes with an audio jack, AC Power adapter, integrated wall-mount system, and a pod paging system. The 2.4 GHz pod comes with user replaceable 1800mAh NiMH batteries good for a 10-hour call or 80 hours of standby time before requiring a recharge.
