Sunnyvale, Calif. — Palm’s Centro smartphone became available today as an unlocked GSM phone available on its Web site outside carrier channels.
The unlocked quadband GSM/EDGE Centro features a new white color with gray accents and is available from Palm. The phone became available this month through Verizon Wireless at $99 following availability at the same price through AT&T Wireless and Sprint.
Starting on June 24, the Centro makes available Google Maps for mobile with My Location to give consumer customers faster access to local maps and driving directions. Google Maps for mobile with My Location will be available free of charge for Palm Centro smartphones at www.google.com/gmm.
